INT. HOSPITAL MATERNITY WARD – EARLY AFTERNOON
It’s a cold, November afternoon. Enter RYAN, a 9-pound, 3-ounce behemoth of a baby, newly born to parents, KAREN and BRUCE KOLBE.
Enter SCOTT, Ryan’s older brother.
(to Karen and Bruce)
Do we have to keep him?
INT. GRANVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE – AFTERNOON
Ryan is advising the PRINCIPAL about safety regulations that should be implemented, after Ryan inadvertently ran smack-dab into a tetherball pole while on recess.
The problem is that NOBODY CAN SEE THE TETHERBALL POLES. I think we should paint them bright orange, so this doesn’t happen again.
INT. GRANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL SHOP CLASS – MORNING
Ryan is talking to his friends about what he wants to do with his life.
I want to be a Civil Engineer and make bridges!
EXT. UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON GHETTO – EVENING
Ryan is philosophizing with his friends on the front porch.
I’m glad I switched majors from Engineering to Communications… what was I thinking?!
INT. WLWT CHANNEL 5 – MORNING
Ryan talks to the BOSS of the Engineering department NBC in Cincinnati about getting a part-time, vacation relief job there since he’s about to graduate and doesn’t have something to do with his life yet.
Yes, sir! I’d be happy to work third shift every other week, followed by second shift the next week until the end of time.
INT. BRIDGE WORLDWIDE – HAPPY HOUR
Ryan talks to a group of his coworkers.
Yeah, it’s probably crazy to leave this comfortable lifestyle and move to Los Angeles to be an actor – but I’ve been acting since I was in middle school, so why not give it a shot?!
INT. RYAN’S APARTMENT – LATE NIGHT
Ryan updates his website while listening to the classical music station so he doesn’t get distracted by any lyrics. As he sips on a craft beer, he thinks about how crazy it is that he’s been in LA since December of 2010, and he reflects on all that he’s accomplished.
